Backyard putting greens in Tampa
Putting greens shaped for Tampa yards, from tight lots under oaks to wide, sunny backyards in New Tampa.
A green you can use every day, rain or shine.
In South Tampa and Seminole Heights, backyard space is tight and usually shared with a big oak, a garage or a pool. A green there tends to be compact, tucked along a fence or beside the patio, with two or three cups set for short, repeatable putts.
Leaves and acorns land on the putting surface, so we keep the green out from under the heaviest canopy when we can and place the cups where cleanup is easy. In New Tampa’s open backyards there’s room for a longer green with real break built into the base.
- 01Design the greenWe lay out the shape, cups and fringe to fit your yard and how you play.
- 02Build and compact the baseA smooth, firm base is what makes a putting surface roll true.
- 03Install putting turf and fringeShort putting turf for the green, longer turf for the fringe, seams hidden.
- 04Cups, infill and roll-testCups are set, infill brushed in, and we test the roll before we leave.

Putting greens in Tampa: questions
Will a putting green fit my small South Tampa backyard?
Usually, yes. A compact green with two or three cups can sit alongside a patio, pool or fence line.
Can a green go under trees?
It can, but falling leaves and acorns mean more blowing off. We try to place the green where it gets some sun and is easy to clear.
Do you build putting greens in Tampa?
Yes. We’re just across Old Tampa Bay in Safety Harbor and build greens throughout Tampa.
